The sky as an engineering drawing

Digital file: a 12 × 18 in PNG at 300 DPI and a matching print-ready PDF, a 20 × 30 in file for larger prints, and a phone wallpaper, emailed minutes after you pay.
Print: the poster printed to order on archival matte paper, rolled in a rigid tube. The digital files come too.
Framed: the print in a solid wood frame with an acrylic front, ready to hang, packed flat. The digital files come too.
From the date, time and place we compute the turn of the Earth for that moment and the height and bearing of 5,044 stars, the Moon and the bright planets. The chart is a stereographic projection centred on the point overhead, with north at the top and east on the left, as the sky looks when you lie on your back.
Without a place, we use New Delhi; without a time, 9 pm. Neither is printed.
Prints are made in 3–5 working days and then shipped by tracked courier, usually 5–8 days to most pin codes. Shipping is free above ₹1,999.
If a print arrives damaged, or something on it is our mistake, we reprint it free. As each poster is made for one person we can’t accept returns for a change of mind, so please check the name and date before you pay.
The idea
Cyanotype ground, a ruled drafting frame and two title blocks along the foot. The fields in them are filled from that night's real astronomy: projection, moon phase, the number of stars in view.
Every design in the shop draws the same, real sky. What changes is the object around it, and each one starts from a single idea about what that object should be.
